The Bay Village
City School District is located in Bay Village, Ohio, a suburban
residential community in Cuyahoga County just 20 miles west of
Cleveland on the shore of Lake Erie.
Five square miles of more than 95 percent residential
properties and tree-lined, sidewalk-lined streets are home to the
district’s four school buildings organized as a K-2 elementary
(Normandy), 3-4 elementary (Westerly), a 5-8 middle school (Bay Middle
School) and a 9-12 high school (Bay High School). The community’s closeness is exemplified by the fact that each grade
level stays together in the same school through high school graduation. The district serves about 2,500 students.
Bay High and Westerly Elementary are
National Blue Ribbon Schools and the district has been named to the
prestigious Best Music Education Communities in America list since 2003. The district consistently scores in the top 2-5% of all public districts on the Ohio Report Card for student achievement, and Bay High attains average scores above state and national averages on SAT and ACT college entrance exams.
