|Communication, Media Relations and Public Information
Our goal is to insure that our students, parents and community members have complete, accurate and timely information about important matters concerning our district and schools.
The Communications Office responds to requests for public records from both the news media and the general public.
Beyond providing access to public records, we strive to provide answers to any questions people may have about our district, or we direct inquiries to appropriate information sources.
We are happy to work with members of the news media to answer questions and provide information, arrange interviews and on-site news and feature coverage, and to obtain parent permission where student interviews or images are requested.
We provide information about our district and schools through a variety of communication channels:

Our e-newsletter is posted online and readers can subscribe for free:
Two regular print newsletters are sent directly to all Bay Village residents:
- Bay Village School News - covers features on academic news, student activities and awards, community member participation, programs available to the public and other general news
Bay Village Schools staff members also receive an e-newsletter, Inside Bay Village Schools (Staff Edition)
We work to make this website as comprehensive a source of information about our school district as possible. It is really the hub of our information program, where so much news, district and school-specific information, calendars and forms reside. Links from our e-newsletters, Twitter and Facebook accounts often bring readers back to our website for more in-depth information. News bulletins on our homepage flow directly into Twitter and cleveland.com. QR codes in our print publication and newspaper features often link to more information on our website. The website is also a portal to many parent and staff online services. Active links on the website flowchart (above) will let you tour some of our web features. If you have suggestions for additions or changes that would make the website more useful, contact Karen Derby Lovell.
Our phone app is an easy way to get to web information on your iPhone or Android phone. Calendar dates and staff contact information put what you need while you're on the go right at your fingertips! Just touch and click a calendar date to see all scheduled events for that date sorted by buildiing, and touch the event to bring up event details. Touch and click phone numbers to make a call, touch and click email addresses to bring up an email form, and touch and click staff member classroom blog/webpage address to go directly to posted information.
We maintain the district's official Twitter account @BaySchoolsOH and the district's Facebook account facebook.com/bayvillageschools.
We offer contact information for all our staff members through our online staff directory. You will find job assignments, email addresses, and school phone numbers for everyone. Many staff members also maintain their own webpages, and we provide those links in our staff directory.
Information and highlight videos are produced by this office and available on our website through our Vimeo account and other webpages throughout our site.
Surveys are effective tools that help us listen to the collective opinions of parents, students, staff members and community members on a variety of issues. We conduct a variety of surveys, depending upon the need and occasion. Here is a Parent Survey conducted to explore preferences for future school calendars. And here is a Community Survey, conducted in June, 2016, to determine residents' opinions about our schools and what they value about us.
