 A GREAT Annual Rake Out!

Bay Middle School students and staff rake the leaves for hundreds of elderly and disabled homeowners every single year, and they had a beautiful day for it today! This is a long tradition when, rain or shine, students in grades 5-8 roll up their sleeves and get raking. They get plenty of help from parents and the school's staff members. Mr. Fitchpatrick and Mr. Caddey run this event like a well-oiled machine! Empathy . . . kindness . . . compassion -- more than just words at our Bay Village Schools.

McKenna Manderine to appear on TODAY SHOW
and march in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!
 McKenna Manderine
Bay Middle School eighth-grader McKenna Manderine will perform in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade! McKenna will appear on the Today Show, Wednesday, November 23 at 6 a.m. and then in the parade Thanksgiving morning with her fellow Spirit of America cheerleaders. Our grade 7-8 Bay Middle School cheerleaders participated in a AmeriCheer home camp in August. McKenna won an "All-American" award for her hard work, enthusiasm, and cheer ability and an invitation to perform with the cheerleading companies of AmeriCheer and AmeriDance (partnering with Spirit of America) to perform at the parade. We'll be watching, McKenna!

About Bay Middle School:
Bay Middle School provides all district students from 5th - 8th grade a curriculum and learning environment that is specifically designed for their age group. Each grade uses a team teaching approach, with grade levels broken into classroom-sized teams who stay together as they change classes for core subjects.

The building, which opened in 2004, provides each grade level with its own academic wing. Large classrooms are fully wired for Internet, telecommunications, and video. The school’s designers put the state-of-the-art facilities for music, art, and athletics far away from the quieter academic areas. The beautiful and bright library is also fully wired for the enhanced use of technology. A large gymnasium accommodates full-school assemblies, and a second, community gymnasium serves residents through the Bay Village Recreation Department.
