Sphero, the app-programmable robotic ball, will be in all four of our school libraries. Library aides are being trained to help students decide direction, distance, speed and color to program entertaining and fun choreography of the ball! More advanced programming is available using macros and a BASIC-based  programming language. Sphero was purchased through a grant written by Brian Reynolds, District Technology Director and Char Shryock, Curriculum Director, from the Bay Village Kiwanis through a Bay Village Education Foundation grants program.
Bay Middle School students travel the world
with Google Cardboard!
Bay Middle School students visited Egypt, Rome, the moon and more through 3-D, 360-degree virtual reality using Google Cardboard! Google Expeditions chose BMS, along with some other area schools, to beta-test their new VR program. Teachers can guide students on their "tours" through use of an iPad. "It won't replace real field trips," said teacher Gary Fitchpatrick. "But it lets us visit places were we cannot go." A smart phone is placed inside the Google Cardboard viewer to access the specially-filmed videos, a growing variety of which are available online. Moving the viewer changes the viewer's perspective, giving a 360-degree point of view based on where the viewer is pointed.

Bay Village Schools Bond Issue Work 2012-2015

Bay Village voters approved $16.8 million in 2012 to refurbish, restore and upgrade our school buildings. We promised to do the work that would keep our schools in service for the next 20-25 years. We are happy to report that we have not only kept that promise, but that we have also taken that money even further than we thought we could. This video will give you the details.
